What does a Cosmetic Dentist in Portland do??
A cosmetic dentist uses a variety of techniques and treatments to enhance the appearance of your smile. Cosmetic dental techniques can include professional teeth whitening treatment, porcelain veneers, dental crowns, and/or dental implants to give you confident beautiful smiles.
The Advantages of Cosmetic Dental Treatment
There are many advantages to cosmetic dental treatment, but first and foremost is to give you a smile that you will love to show off, which can improve self-esteem and confidence. Cosmetic dentistry can also help people with missing, damaged, or crooked teeth eat and speak more comfortably and confidently.
Our DSD dental team can address many different types of issues, including:
- Missing teeth
- Teeth that have been worn down by grinding
- Misshapen or uneven teeth
- Teeth that are stained, yellowed, or otherwise discolored
- Cracked, chipped, or broken teeth
- Teeth that appear very long, short, or pointy
- Gaps or large spaces between teeth
We will create an individual treatment plan based on the current state of your teeth and your smile goals so that you can show off your pearly whites all day, every day!
Our Cosmetic Dental Services
To achieve your dream smile, we’ll likely use some of these treatments:
Professional Teeth Whitening
Lots of factors can have an impact on the whiteness and brightness of our teeth, like certain foods and drinks, medications, and of course smoking. At DSD, we use safe, biocompatible methods to gently whiten your teeth – and our professional teeth whitening can leave your teeth 5-8 times whiter than using over-the-counter chemical products!
Dental Veneers
Veneers are basically thin, durable shells that are attached to the front of your teeth, which can cover up stains, fill gaps, and fix other minor cosmetic issues. Veneers are custom-made for each patient from porcelain, resin, or ceramic in order to look natural and fit perfectly onto your teeth. Some enamel is removed from the front of your teeth so that the veneers can be securely bonded in place.
Dental Crowns
Crowns fit over your entire tooth, often to hide a decayed or damaged tooth and to prevent further damage from occurring. They can also disguise the appearance of a misshapen or badly discolored teeth to match the rest of your smile.
Dental Implants
Implants are used to replace teeth that have been lost or removed. A screw-retained implant will attach the implant to your jaw. You will be anesthetized for any implants and we’ll take great care to manage your pain both during the procedure and afterward! We believe in a holistic approach to dentistry so we try to preserve your natural teeth wherever possible, but sometimes implants are the best option.

Cosmetic Dentistry Services FAQs
Here are a few of the most frequently asked questions we get about cosmetic dental care. Still, have a question? You may contact us during our business hours.
I don’t like my teeth or smile, what can I do?
Come see me at Division Street Dental! We’ll work with you to identify the issues you want to fix, show you how we’ve solved similar problems for other patients, and come up with an individualized treatment plan for you.
How much is cosmetic dentistry?
That depends on what treatments you have done, and how extensive the treatment is. Naturally, a full set of veneers will be more expensive than repairing one tooth. At your cosmetic dentistry consultation, we’ll cover all of your treatment options and the cost of each.
Can cosmetic dentistry fix an overbite?
An overbite is something that is best treated at a young age when the jaw is still developing, and it’s usually treated by an orthodontist. However, minor overbites can be addressed through cosmetic dentistry or one of our clear aligner programs.
Is cosmetic dentistry safe?
As long as you choose a fully licensed and qualified dentist like Dr. Noor 😉 cosmetic dentistry is very safe and presents very few health risks. And remember, at DSD we practice holistic, biocompatible dentistry to ensure utmost patient safety and health.
What can cosmetic dental care fix?
Cosmetic dental care can fix chipped, broken or missing teeth, stained or discolored teeth, gaps or spaces between teeth, and other appearance-related issues as outlined above!
