Dr. Husein Shaikh
Dr. Shaikh recently graduated from NOVA Southeastern University in South Florida. NOVA Southeastern University is one of the first dental schools to offer a dual DO/DMD program, where they integrate medical and dental care as part of their holistic oral health practices. Dr. Shaikh recently moved back to Oregon, where he grew up, and is curently living in Bandon, OR. In his free time, you can find Dr. Shaikh going to the beach, hiking, and exploring the beautiful PNW.
We asked him what super power he would want; “X-ray vision! It would make my life so much easier!” 😎
Dr. Shaikh is a firm believer that the foundation of great oral health starts from within. Each person has their own unique footprint, and each unique footprint means we must individualize their care.

Kelly has a BA in Dental Hygiene and over 19 years experience as hygienist in the Portland area. Kelly knew she wanted to serve as a dental hygienist beginning in high school and brings a passion for preventative health, an appreciation for long-term relationships with her patients, and a natural talent to learn. Kelly joined Division Street Dental after beginning her own journey of discovering the benefits of holistic dental care and seeing people improve their overall health by improving their oral health and visa versa.

Ashley
Periodontal Therapist
Ashley, Periodontal Therapist
Ashley is from Northern California, she has a three-year-old golden retriever named Bailey, and a partner named Stephen. She has a passion for marathon running and is hoping to run Boston this next year. Ashley also enjoys hiking, biking, going to the lake and just watching movies at home.
She chose dentistry after initially pursuing a career in the spa industry. She had worked at an organic skincare spa in Southern California and then moved into a career in massage therapy. Ashley realized that she enjoyed this work but it was not quite what she was hoping for. Ashley had always had an interest in dental. She then decided it was time to have my dream job in dentistry, where She could still be in the healthcare industry and make people’s lives better.
Ashley ultimately chose dentistry because she wanted to change how people felt about taking care of their oral health and explaining its connection to their overall well-being.
She incorporates holistic dentistry into my life by taking Vitamin D daily, which we really need in the PNW. This has been shown to help kill bad bacteria. Ashley also uses Xylitol lozenges, which have been shown to help aid in cavity prevention at least a little and help people with dry mouth. Sometimes she will also oil pull. Oil pulling helps improve sensitivity, brighten teeth and reduce the build-up of plaque.
Ashley's superpower would be teleporting. She has a passion for traveling the world and if it was this easy, Ashley would always be in a new place. Her favorite place she has traveled so far is Bali Indonesia.
